"After 3 great years, we are shutting down the PC Steam servers to refocus our development efforts. The PC game will officially be removed on January 2, 2018, and all DLC and purchasable content will also be unavailable starting today."
Now, what about those who have been planning to purchase Hawken and its DLC? The announcement to discontinue sales of DLC and other purchasable content is a little sudden...
Oh, who are we kidding?
Continuing forward, the team left a rather heartfelt message:
"It's been an incredibly rewarding experience working alongside such a dedicated PC player base. Your feedback and support have been invaluable to us, and the team looks forward to creating more great games based on what we've learned from you."
Originally, Hawken was revealed in 2011, but it launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in July 2016. Oddly enough, it appears as if the console version of the mech shooter will remain, as the Facebook post only focuses on the PC version.
Then again, there are so few playing it at the moment - averaging 86 concurrent players at the time of this writing - that it's just a waste of money.
