Have a Trailer for the Actually Happening Angry Birds Movie

So. This is happening.



Gotta admit, I’m not surprised in the slightest: I mean, we already knew they were planning an Angry Bird Movie, it wasn’t exactly a secret, but even if we didn’t know, it certainly wasn’t unreasonable to believe that they’d make a movie based on one of the hottest franchises in gaming at the time. At the time being the keyword here, because despite Angry Birds 2 having recently been released it has been a long, long time since Angry Birds have been popular. Their heyday is as distant as a bird fired out of a slingshot.

If this movie will rekindle Angry Birds fever or just be another dying spark, well, hard to say. Considering how much Rovio has been milking this particular cash cow (remember the cartoon? The kart racing game? The RPG? Because no one else does), I’d be more than happy if it was the latter.

Still, some pretty big names attached to this, actor-wise. Must have signed on back when this movie would have caused legitimate hype, rather than an ironic laugh and some unironic eye-rolling. But then, maybe I’m being too cynical about it--there might be kids who are thrilled to see this is a thing.

I’m just not one of them. Although that pig part was worth a chuckle at least.
