When an Overwatch patch hits, it always causes a stir. The buffing and nerfing of characters are regularly seen as destroying the meta. Unless it's your main, then the buffs were long-needed, of course. Overwatch consists of 27 different heroes at this point. Balancing the game so that no single hero is inherently better than the others. Their efforts aren't always successful either. Symetra still has virtually zero time in professional play, after all. Now after two years, Hanzo is the one under the knife.

Blizzard released a patch yesterday, in which the archer Hanzo has received a number of changes. Before, he was consistently criticized for the Scatter Arrow ability. Many flying arrows would bounce along surfaces, scattering about and hitting nearly everything in its wake. The ability was commonly considered over-powered, and it was no fun to play against.

In the most recent update, the scatter arrow has been removed and replaced with a new ability, Storm Arrows. This new skill has the player shoot six arrows at full power in quick succession. He's also been given a leap ability to increase the character's mobility.

Hanzo is now much more mobile with his new Lunge ability, and with the combination of the bow projectile speed increase and the new Storm Arrows ability he can now deal his high damage more consistently than ever before, Blizzard wrote.

This will help mitigate the feeling of an unfair death, delt by a stray scatter arrow. Other characters have gone through a few changes as well, such as Brigitte. More information on them, and on Hanzo, can be found on Overwatch's official patch notes.
