No longer does the player have to face their trial alone in the RPG card game, Hand of Fate 2. A recent update now lets the silver-tongued dealer be a support companion. After completing the game's final challenge, the player unlocks the dealer to join them in their adventures. He provides long-range support during battle, as well as additional snark during the dungeon crawling sections.
The dealer did not have as vital of a role as he did in the first Hand of Fate, and that this is a great way to bring new focus to the character. He can be claimed via the "Additional Content" menu. The dealer's apprentice add-on will also introduce new customization for the player, all dealer-themed.
Developers Defiant Development has used this time to outline their intentions for the game in the coming year. The center attraction is the introduction of Endless Mode. There will also be new challenges and content, ranging from new factions and companions to new weapons.
Hand of Fate takes a unique perspective on both card building games and RPGs. While the sequel did not have as strong a launch as the original, it's a satisfying game nonetheless. It can be found on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam for $29.99. It's even 10 percent off on Steam right now.
