Terrible starting joke, Im sorry.
Microsoft has a new partnership with Krispy Kreme to promote the upcoming sci-fi shooter game. The baked good franchise will produce a Halo themed donut that features a black and blue frosting and an emblem on top of the Spartan Armor helmet. Were not sure if you can eat the helmet emblem, currently.
But thats not the interesting part. When announcing the promo, the official Xbox Mexico Twitter account may have implied that Halo Infinite is set to release in November.
Heres the tweet, translated to English.
Why wait for November if we can start the festivities now?
Xbox Mexico and @MexKrispyKreme We celebrate 20 years of the Master Chief with a special edition Halo Infinite donut. Available July 30.
Halo Infinite was initially set to be an Xbox Series S/X launch title, but was delayed after an underwhelming reception from a gameplay reveal trailer. Since then, weve only known the game to release some time in late 2021. This tweet implies that the official launch may be in November, specifically.
HOWEVER, its worth noting that the 20th anniversary of the first game, Halo: Combat Evolved, will be in November, having released that month in 2001. This can mean one of two things: 1, they are referring to the anniversary in the tweet. 2, thats yet another reason to think the game will release that month.
And to make matters even worse, the donut promo appears to be a Brazil exclusive.
All things considered, this isnt enough concrete info to trust. Even if November holds significance, this could have easily been a PR guy making a mistake (which happens a lot). Regardless, well likely know for certain closer to November. So theres nothing we can do but wait, regardless.
