In January, Microsoft announced a collaborative promo with OPI, a nail polish brand. The brand would sell a bottle of sparkly, purple nail polish. When someone buys the product, they would also get an in-game skin for Halo: Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. The in-game skin would match the color and shine of the nail polish, of course.
One detail was missed, however. The redemption codes for each game were not distributed at the same time. The first batch of nail polish only held codes for Forza Horizon 5, while codes for the Halo: Infinite armor skin wouldn't be available until February 1st. But since this wasnt made clear from the start, many buyers made already made the purchase for the Halo skin.
This is later confirmed by Katie J, an Xbox Partnership Lead. They also reveal that this is in-part due to exclusivity deals with Ulta Beauty.
I think you might have figured it out already but Forza has an exclusive in the US with Ulta for their code; a code for the Halo armor coating will be available with purchases starting Feb 1 at Amazon in the US and in other regions at other retailers (not sure of the breakdown)
The offer's terms and conditions has also been changed recently (caught by Kotaku), which now more clearly states this scheduling intention.
The funniest thing about all of this, to us, is that even though Halo: Infinite armor skin codes are making their way to people now, the skin isnt actually available in the game yet. We get that The game has a slew of existing issues to resolve, and was doomed to fail, really. But this really is a humorous topping to the mess. We say humorous, wed be justifiably upset if this happened to us personally. And as such, our sympathies go out to everyone losing patience with this nonsense.
