For those that fell in love with the lore of the Halo-verse, you are in for quite a surprise. Today, at Gamescom, it has been revealed that Halo 5's campaign will be twice as long as the campaign in Halo 4. Let's take a moment to break down the length of Halo 4's campaign:

According to How Long to Beat, the campaign took a full 7 hours and 51 minutes on average. If rushed through, the campaign lasted 5 hours and 49 minutes, but at a leisurely pace, it clocked in at 13 hours and 8 minutes. With that fact in mind, you can consider Halo 5's campaign to be roughly 16 hours long--and it was originally longer. According to Gamesradar, the campaign was far longer, but content, unfortunately, needed to be cut.

In other Halo news, Microsoft has been attempting to lure eSports players to its side by launching the inaugural Halo World Championship, complete with a $1 million prize pool. This championship will be focusing on Halo 5 and its shift to hardcore gamers. According to Halo 5's executive producer Josh Holmes:

"Halo has always been synonymous with online competition and was an originator in console eSports. With Halo 5: Guardians we are fully embracing that legacy with the biggest investment in Xbox eSports history."

Perhaps this is a method to sell more Xbox Ones and get eSports players to embrace Microsoft and Halo. Do you believe that Halo 5 could become a powerful force in eSports?

Finally, it's important to mention that there will be a Pink Mist edition of Halo 5 heading our way. Sounds cool right? Well it sounds even cooler when a real-life replica of a needler is involved. Oozing with LED lights, authentic sound events torn from Halo, and of course, crystal needles that individually dip until the trigger is pulled, this baby comes with the Limited Edition items. 100% scaled, this needler 29 inches long and 10 inches tall. So you'd think it'd be fairly cheap right? Maybe $300?

Wrong. Instead, you're looking at £449.99, or about $700 in USD, which is far costlier--and thus more painful--than the Call of Duty Mini-Fridge Edition. You can even build a new desktop with that kind of money! For a reference, the Limited Edition, which is about $249.99, includes a Master Chief/Spartan Locke statue, Metal Earth Guardian Model, SteelBook case, Halo 5 download code and some lore goodies.

Unfortunately, the Pink Mist edition is only available at Game.co.uk, so those of us outside of the UK better be prepared to cough up more than just $700 (*coughshippingandimport feescough*).
