Hopefully Warzone will maintain a balanced atmosphere, that's all I can say.

This is a bit of a groaner here: Halo 5: Guardians will have microtransactions. To many, this was an unexpected strategy utilized by 343 Industries.

And these fans were not particularly thrilled.

Understandably so. Apparently, the developer released a blog defending the action on the official Halo Waypoint blogFirst of all, the Requisition System (REQ), which incorporates the new currency, actually rewards players in both Arena and Warzone multiplayer. All players will be able to earn REQ points from each match, which can be used to purchase REQ Packs.

These REQ Packs contain a variety of requisitions in the "form of unlockable weapons and armors, skins, assassination animations, and more." On top of those goodies, players will receive REQ Packs as rewards upon Spartan Rank leveling and Commendation completion.

Apparently, these REQ Packs may be only obtainable across Arena and Warzone, but only cosmetic items may be used in Arena to maintain a balanced atmosphere. However, in Warzone, you will have the ability to use all of your weapons and vehicles from your REQ inventory. However, the REQs will be balanced by Warzone's in-match REQ Level and Energy systems, which are determined by player and team performance.

Finally, the REQ System is designed to reward players with a steady stream of content so the game doesn't stale. Players will be able to purchase these REQ packs as a matter of convenience, which a portion of the proceeds being sent to prize pools for the Halo Championship Series.

So there you have it. Does the REQ system sound a lot better now, or do you still wish for it to be removed?

The Xbox One exclusive Halo 5: Guardians will release October 27, 2015.
