Hacker Finds Another Impossible Coin in Mario 64

Scott Buchanan (pannenkoek2012) knows Super Mario 64 more than than the rest of us know about pretty much anything. He's the one who found and collected the infamous "Impossible Coin" a while back. Well, he's not done wowing us. Now, he's found another rogue coin hidden in Tiny Huge Island. Of course, he then immediately documented his finding for us all to see.

I admit, I've pretty much ignored any and all lines of coins.

The explanation gets a bit technical, but it's pretty simple. I don't know about other Mario games, but Super Mario 64 only spawns coins in collections of 5. So, when you see a line of only 4 coins, you know something is amiss. In this case, the missing coin immediately stops existing one frame after it spawns. There's absolutely nothing below it, so the game just tosses it.

So how do you get a hold of that coin? Well, as of now, you can't. Even with hacking, the coin immediately vanishes right as it appears. However, I have no doubt that Buchanan will show us all how he did it soon.
