Tactical Breach Wizards is a modern age turn-based strategy game. The player manages mages in multiple breach-and-clear missions. According to Francis, the idea was born from a desire for "more indie XCOMs," and he believed that modern-day wizards would be a suitably silly fit for the genre.
The flow of combat takes slight variance from what one usually expects from a turn-based strategy game. You do not command one unit at a time, watching them then perform the action. The player gives out their commands to all their units, and they perform these actions all at once. Francis has also stated that he likes the idea of allowing players to redo turns as much as they like until they're happy with the outcome.
Tactical Breach Wizards is still very early in development. A fair number of features are going to change depending on how things feel, according to Francis.
"My prototype is too early to say if either of those systems will stick, Ill happily scrap or change them if not. I might end up making a totally different tactics game with this same theme, or as I say, the whole thing might completely fail to coalesce and I scotch the lot."
If this game grows to fruition, and it's on par with his previous work, then I have full faith it will be a fantastic game. More details to come in the far future.
