In a recent announcement by Activision, Guitar Hero TV mode will no longer be available on Guitar Hero Live by December 1, 2018. Additionally, the Guitar Hero Live for iOS has been removed from the App Store as of June 1. Console versions will continue to operate as usual.
Guitar Hero TV mode was a new online feature in the most recent game, Guitar Hero Live. This mode allowed users to access "channels" of songs that they could play along with. It even played the music videos of said songs in the background. Much like television, you were at the whim of the broadcast schedule. If you wanted to play a song again, at your own time, you had to purchase the song.
Those who already own/installed the game for iOS will still be able to play on their devices. Though if you update your iOS system, the game may no longer be supported.
All in-game purchases have been disabled for GHTV. Players can use their Hero Cash and items already in possession until the "GHTV Sunset Date" in December. After that date, they will be unusable.
Any and all content, including Premium Shows, unlocked through the game mode will no longer be available to play come December 1.
