Fans of both Metroidvania games and Mexican cuisine rejoice. The release date for Guacamelee! 2 has been announced, and it's not that far.
The sequel to the avocado based platform RPG is releasing on Steam and PlayStation 4 on August 21. Born from a cult favorite, fans can expect a more refined experience, seven years after defeating Carlos Calaca, with protagonist luchador Juan Aguacate. This means improved graphics, new attacks, even a four-player co-op.
Developed by Drinkbox Studios, Guacamelee! 2 will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PC. The developers have previously stated that they're focus is on the PS4 game, so an Xbox One or Switch version is unlikely. That's a shame, really. I feel like this game would fit fantastically on the Switch.
