When rumors circulated by an alleged Rockstar employee that the PC version of GTA 5 was canceled due to administrative complications, the PC crowd very calmly and rationally responded by hacking the site that rumor originated from and demanded that Rockstar make GTA 5 for PC anyway. Rockstar soon reassured fans that the game was indeed coming, but the gesture of the hack was certainly telling: PC gamers really, really wanted GTA 5, and really, why wouldn’t they? I’m sure modders have been planning all the crazy stuff they want to add to the game to make it more like Saints Row ever since it was first announced.
Well, good news, PC fans: let the shadow of doubt linger no longer. Rockstar Games has officially revealed the release dates of both the PC version and the current-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto 5, along with this spiffy trailer. Check it.
As you can see, the updated version of the game will come with bonus content for players to enjoy, such as a mime, and a dog. The current-console version of the game will be released later this year on November 18th, while the PC version will be delayed till next year, on January 27th 2015. But if you want, you can pre-order them today.
So yeah, congratulations hackers: you won!
