EVE Online is widely known as some kind of spreadsheet simulator. Other than that, it's famous for being an extremely successful space MMO. It's epic enough to have diplomatic conflicts and even wars between huge factions. How huge? Well, the largest Alliance in the game, Goonswarm, hit 2017 with more than 21,000 members.
Goonswarm is a large and popular group in EVE Online. They didn't get that way without making a few enemies. Even just last year, a massive, ragtag coalition obliterated their hold in the game. That alone makes their current numbers even more impressive.
EVE Online is constantly changing. Some things seem to stick around, though. Goonswarm has been around for years. They're not even the oldest active Alliance. That honor goes to The Syndicate of over 20 years.
