Gone Home, the award-winning exploration game by The Fullbright Company, is coming to Nintendo Switch later this month.
Nearly five years after it's release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, the developer/publisher is teaming up with Annapurna Interactive to bring the narrative-driven game onto the portable console. Priced at $14.99, the game is due to release on August 23. Alongside this release is a physical edition, with a vinyl edition releasing at a later date. That edition includes the full soundtrack by iam8bit.
Gone Home is considered a staple game in the LGBT gaming community. The player takes the role of a young woman returning home from her time abroad, only to discover an empty home. They must then, step by step, find out where everyone went. Through notes and messages hidden away, you learn about your sister's experience figuring herself out, including understanding her feelings for a same-sex partner. The compelling narrative would drive the game on to win the BAFTA Award, as well as the Game Developers Choice Award.
If you were looking for a reason to try the game, and you haven't yet. This is a solid opportunity. Otherwise, you can get Gone Home on PC, PS4, and Xbox One now.
