All of the No Man's Sky news has been extremely negative for a long time now. People were so upset with the game and it let down the majority of fans. Well, with a brand new update that just went live, it might be comeback time for the title. The new update, called the "Foundation Update", is changing almost everything about No Man's Sky. With the update, the Creative and Survival game modes will become options for the player.

If you choose to play on Creative, you have unlimited health and resources, and no building costs at all. You can build bases, recruit alien workers, and edit everything. In Survival mode, you'll find enemies that are stronger and more aggressive, you'll have to fight through more dangerous hazards, and you'll have limited resources. You can also just play the standard style by choosing the Normal mode.

You're now able to claim a home planet by finding an empty base and creating your own outpost on it. You're able to place structures and decorations down wherever you would like and they are all replicated from the resources you've gathered up while exploring. Each of the alien workers you can hire have a specialty, which can be either farming, engineering, weaponry, or science. You can use a teleporter to move to and from your base, build storage containers, and even dismantle your base at any time to get all of your resources back.

If you want to take the farming route, you can create Hydroponic Labs inside your base. Depending on the biome you built your base on, you can plant certain crops outside while leaving space inside for other plants. The plants will grow over time and continuously provide you a steady source for resources. If you hire a farming specialist, you can discover new resource elements and even grow ten new plant types.

Hello Games has seriously gone crazy with this update. They've added freighters that you can purchase and summon whenever you would like. You can even teleport resources onto the freighter to be sold later. They've added auto-mining devices, brand new star-specific resources, an advanced mining laser, and even did some UI changes to make things feel a bit more believable. This is the update the game needed and I'm hoping that there's more on the way for this title. It certainly isn't going down without a fight. You can see the entire update log right here.
