Ghostwire: Tokyo is set to launch later this month. To build up hype and establish some lore, developer Tango Gameworks has released a free visual novel game. Introducing Ghostwire: Tokyo Prelude.

Prelude, as the name implies, takes place ssix months before the events of the main game. The story follows KK, a supernatural investigator looking for a missing friend. But in their efforts, they stumble across a secret plot that will put all of Tokyo in danger. Throughout the visual novel, the player will be able to build relationships with KKs crew, learn more about the characters, and discover secrets to the world of Ghostwire.

This is a fun way to promote the upcoming game. TV commercials and webpage adverts arent as engaging as they used to be. This way, those interested are given the chance to connect to the game world and establish a connection before the game has even released. Releasing it for free certainly helps, too.

You can find Ghostwire: Tokyo Prelude on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on their respective digital storefronts. It will release on PC (Steam/EGS) next week, on March 8.
