Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is an Upcoming 1v4 Action Game

Developer Illfonic, the studio known for Predator: Hunting Grounds (another one of that), has officially announced their next game, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. The game features a team of 4 ghostbusters as they search the area for a dangerous ghost to contain. Another player, controlling the ghost, has to cause as much spooky, scary mischief as possible without getting caught.



Narratively, the Ghost Busters crew has decided to bring in new talent. While characters like Winston Zeddemore and Ray Stantz will appear as NPCs, the players will play as the new crew. We aren't given their names proper, but the name takes imply they are called Joejoe, Brucel(?), Anne something, and we can't read the last one.

While the reveal trailer shows some gameplay, we cant help but feel skeptical. The studios last game, Predator: Hunting Ground, was well-made but somewhat poorly received. Maybe theres a certain magic missing from development, maybe society is just moving past the 1v4 game format. Either way, were concerned that this will lead to an underwhelming experience in the long run.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will release on consoles and PC (Epic Game Story Exclusive) at some point in the future. Crossplay will be available as well.
