Gearsmas is Here, and There's Stuff

Everyone’s celebrating the holidays this time of year: not just for spiritual or emotional reasons, but because it’s a great marketing opportunity. And just like all the other games you know and love, Gears of War 4 is celebrating the year’s end with a Christmas-themed DLC pack and a new multiplayer mode that’ll be sure to satisfy, assuming you’re too lonely or lazy to have a real-life snowball fight to the death.



For 400 credits, you can grab a special “gearmas” pack, which will include one bounty, and two things from the list below:

• 3 "Ugly Gearsmas Armor" Characters - JD, Kait and Swarm Drone
• 4x Gingerbread Weapon Skins
• 4x Festive Tree Weapon Skins
• 4x Snowman Weapon Skins
• 4x JD Wrapping Paper Weapon Skins
• 4x Kait Wrapping Paper Weapon Skins
• 4x Swarm Wrapping Paper Weapon Skins
• 1 Commemorative Gearsmas Emblem

You can also get an Ice Boomshot if you log in on December 27th.

Snowball Fight is the new themed game mode, where you start the game with two snowballs, and can pick up more through the match to throw at your enemies. Why would you want to do that when you have a perfectly good rifle? Because the snowballs are one-hit kills, so, there’s no better way to turn your enemies into blood patties.

And if that doesn’t grab you, an old game mode, Cross Play, where Xbox One and Windows 10 players can hang out and play on the same server, will be coming back, with an XP boost to boot.

Sounds like a great reason to go back to Gears of War 4 multiplayer. Well, maybe not a great reason, but a reason. There’s most certainly cause to at least visit the multiplayer and maybe play around or two. Or not. But at least get that Ice Boomshot, you know?

Gearsmas (god, that’s a stupid name) runs until the 28th.
