Gearbox Software Opens Studio in Quebec City

Looks like Bethesda isn't the only studio opening a branch in Canada. Gearbox Software, the studio behind Brothers in Arms and Borderlands, is opening a studio branch in Quebec. Gearbox Software, with the mission of entertaining the world, is hiring game developers willing to relocate to Quebec City, to help create its inaugural title (which is unknown, by the way).

According to Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software:

"We are fortunate that there is a lot of demand on us to deliver our brand of interactive entertainment within the powerful franchises we have at Gearbox Software and the challenge for us is growing to meet this demand. As part of our strategy we have already successfully built an expanded all-new headquarters in Frisco, Texas. We now look ahead to another key and exciting step which is our commitment towards our all-new Gearbox Studio Quebec where we strive to team up with some incredible talent in the world of video game development outside of Texas to help us build fun and exciting video games within our tent-pole brands."

This is actually really cool, seeing such growth in gaming studios. What's exciting is that Quebec and Montreal is beginning to boom in video game studios, and I just happen to live near both cities.
