Gang Beasts, the physics-based brawler that picked up a lot of fans on Steam is currently trying to get itself onto Xbox One. The game is an early access title on Steam right now and has a PS4 version in the works. Unfortunately, Xbox is proving to be a bit difficult to work with. Since Gang Beasts is an indie title, Microsoft is hoping they get something exclusive in the game to make it their own. Many indie developers have run into this problem when attempting to work with Microsoft, and have been unable to convert their games to the Xbox consoles.
PS4, however, has absolutely no problems with the game and will allow them to sell copies. Boneloaf, the developers of Gang Beasts, have stated that they don't really see the point in making something exclusive for no reason. They understand that Xbox wants their consumers to feel important, but at the same time, Xbox One gamers should be able to play the same games the PC and PS4 gamers can play. The fact that they aren't allowing this to go through really has me scratching my head.
I think Microsoft has been trying to do a lot with indie developers, but they're really just crippling small dev teams that are trying to make a name for themselves. Negotiations between Microsoft and Boneloaf are still ongoing, so more information might be released in the near future. Hopefully we get some good news.
