George Mason University recently showed off its new "Gaming Incubator", a smaller institute inside its own grounds that is specifically geared towards game development. Hoping to tap into the billion dollar industry of video games, the university is encouraging its students to partake in it as inspiration for their own designs. The Incubator is the first of its kind on the East coast, and is slated to attract other entrepreneurs looking to make their way in game development, as well.
It SEEMS like an interesting concept to me, but it also kinda sounds like a giant gaming room. Which don't get me wrong, sounds awesome, but also has the potential to be a LAN that never ends. And god knows that'd probably be the most sleep-deprived, dirty-as-hell session of gaming that mankind could ever produce. But, if this DOES work out and attracts new game devs, new studios couldn't hurt, especially after seeing Irrational Games be disbanded. That was tragic, to say the least.
Hey now, you're a game dev, get your game on, go play. (Yes, it was a crappy re-word. Let me have this one.)
