Zeitz had posted a Craigslist posting in the hopes to sell his Playstation 4. He quickly got an interested party and arranged a meeting with a 16-year-old girl and her 20-year-old boyfriend Nathaniel Vivian. He then scheduled to meet them in an apartment parking lot at 9:30pm. Upon arrival he noticed that the couple had a 16-month-old baby in the backseat so he probably thought all was good with the two. Well, unfortunatly it was not as the couple attempted to steal Zeitz's PS4 from him and a struggle ensued. Zeitz then attempted to wrestle the console away from Vivian who was in the driver's seat of the car and that's when the fatal shot was fired from a .25 caliber pistol in which the girl was holding. The bullet passed through Vivian's hand and hit Zeitz in the chest killing him.
The couple must have driven around awhile as they eventually showed up at a local hospital to have Vivian's hand treated and were quickly arrested;
Brookhaven police were at the hospital interviewing the injured man, who told them he was a victim of a crime in Brookhaven, but later told them he was shot while he and his girlfriend were at the Legends of Dunwoody Apartments to rob a man of his PS4 video gaming system that was advertised on Craigslist, Momon said.
Momon also said that his detectives found out that the teen's child was in the car with them during the shooting. Vivian is currently being held without bond in the Fulton County jail, and the girl is also in custody. The infant was later given to relatives for care. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the girl will be tried as an adult in the murder of Zeitz as it should be.
Friends and family of Zeitz have setup a crowd-fudning campaign site to help with funeral costs and it has raised over $23,000 thus far. You can contribute by clicking here as I'm sure they'll need it.
I will say that one wonders what could have been done to avert such a tradegy?
This probably serves warning to most out there that if you ever do any kind of online transactions that it would be best to do them in a very public place like a mall and have a friend with you just in case!
What are your thoughts? What should happen to the girl? One thing that is curious to me is that did she shoot out of vindiction or fear? At any rate, it doesn't matter and she should receive the full punishment possible for taking this young Gamer's life and also putting her child in mortal danger.
