35-year old Brian "Poshybrid" Vigneault was known for streaming long sessions of World of Tanks several times per week. On February 19th, what seemed like a regular stream to his viewers, turned out to be a tragedy. This stream, Brian left the room to smoke a cigarette 22 hours into his session and never returned. Viewers of his stream just assumed that he had fallen asleep until the next morning his friend sent a text and a response came back from a police detective, investigating his death.
The Virginia Beach father of three had been streaming on Twitch regularly to raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. While the cause of death has been unable to be determined at this time, it's speculated that it came down to severe sleep deprivation and heart complications. Brian was also quite well known for chain smoking and drinking during his 20+ hour sessions, and who could blame him? He isn't the only streamer known for broadcasting extremely long sessions. Various big name streamers have been complaining lately about the pressure from viewers to broadcast for longer and longer sessions.
Brian's death is being mourned online by viewers and fans of Twitch alike, and Twitch has even turned his desolate channel into a memorial.
