Rainbow Six remains one of Ubisofts biggest games, though its taken a more sci-fi turn with Rainbow Six: Extraction. And now, we get to see some in-depth footage of the game.
Ubisoft kicked off their E3 Ubisoft Forward presentation this year with this reveal. It began with a new cinematic trailer, showing a combat team on a mission to rescue a captured teammate from a swarm of strange, alien creatures.
It certainly managed to extract my attention (bad joke, Im sorry). And it gives us a fairly accurate idea of what the actual gameplay experience will be like. But if that wasnt enough, Ubisoft immediately follows it up with an in-depth gameplay reveal.
Now we REALLY get how it works. Rainbow Six: Extraction is a cooperative shooter for one to three players. The team is tasked with entering various areas infected with dangerous alien organisms, fighting against aggressive hordes and reaching the objective. Through their efforts, theyll also encounter special variations of aliens, requiring a different approach to defeat.
In case youre confused. This game was already revealed a while back. Originally, it was called Rainbow Six: Quarantine. But after the COVID-19 pandemic forcing countless folks into real-world quarantines. Worried about the poor taste of keeping the name, the game underwent a re-branding, and is now known as Extraction.
Rainbow Six: Extraction will release on PC and consoles on September 16, 2021
