Game Award News 4: An Iwata Tribute

One last bit of good news, and then...

Of course, there’s more to the Game Awards than just the announcement of new games (or the announcement of new games in proximity to the Game Awards that weren't’ actually announced at that specific venue), it’s also about celebrating the culture as a whole, and the things that brought us together over the past year. And what brought us closer together than the death of an acclaimed man taken to us far too soon? Indeed--it’s time to reminisce one last time on the life and death of Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata.

Pretty heartwarming. Reggie was never much of a speaker, he sounds more like a corporate mouthpiece than a man more often than not, and unfortunately he isn’t quite able to shake that by the end of the video, but he gets close. Also, the choice of music in this section was… questionable, and some of the pictures they chose to illustrate Iwata’s life were ruined due to memes, but… hey, 10/10 for the effort.

Now let’s go back to smiling, eh?
