A while back, we caught wind of a Doom movie entering production. With the game series being one of the best known first-person shooters in history and a massively successful game in 2016, it's no surprise that mainstream media would want to capitalize on it. But that isn't today's news. We've recently discovered that actress Amy Manson has been cast as the main character.

Doom had hit the big screen once before. In 2005, a Doom movie starring Dwayne Johnson released, and subsequently flopped, hard. The movie was considered an undeniable failure, receiving a Rotten Tomatoes score of 19 percent. This is why it was such a surprise when actress Nina Bergman revealed she had signed on for Universal Pictures new Doom movie.

The movie is being handled by Universal 1440 Entertainment, which doesn't deal with theatrical releases. This likely means that the Doom movie will not be coming to theatres but straight to DVD. A more likely option is that it'll release online.

No word on a release window for the project. We'll keep you informed as more becomes available to us.
