It only took 3 years.

Halo: Master Chief Collection was supposed to be an integral part of bringing Halo together onto one console, the Xbox One. Having released November 11, 2014, it has received a fair bit of criticism for complications relating to the multiplayer segments of the various games within. Fans were met with unreliable connections and overwhelmingly long wait times to join online games. Since Halo's online is part of what made it the icon it is today, the Halo community was no doubt perturbed by this.

Now after almost three years, Frank O'Connor, the Franchise Development Director of the Halo franchise at 343 Industries, addresses the community regarding the issues:

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't understand the anger or disappointment those came from."

In a Reddit post, Frank O'Connor, commonly known as Frankie, describes the various hurdles that 343i had to go through, as well as the mistakes they made in development that led to the broken system that shipped on release. With all of the attention to the upcoming Xbox One X happening, some of the game's structural issues are being addressed, and now they aim to resolve the multiplayer issues.

Even though no solid date was given as to when these improvements will be implemented, the Halo community has been extremely enthusiastic, to the point of some calling it the rebirth of the Halo: Master Chief Collection. It's great to see that 343 Industries looks to rectify the situation, and I wish the best support for the excited Halo fans.
