Fortnite Players Fear for Comet's Fall

For a while now, there's been a strange comet in the skies of Fortnite. While originally this was nothing more than peculiar, recent events are causing quite a stir within the game's community.

It started when telescopes started appearing around Tilted Towers, a high-popularity zone near the center of the map. The area is dense with loot, and being in such a central location has caused many users to believe this comet will actually destroy the Tilted Towers. The idea supposedly will help balance the game out, while removing a "problematic area" naturally.

Chaos continued to brew when players were reportedly seeing an increase in shooting stars near the Tilted Towers area, as well as reporting controller vibrations that spell out SOSD5418 in Morse code. This led people to believe that an SOS for area D5 would happen on 4-18. But since it's currently April 19, that idea has been proven false. Now players are speculating that it means 5-4-18, or May 4, 2018, which would take place four days after the finale of Fortnite Season 3. Over time, the comet has grown larger and engulfed in flames, so the idea tracks.

This has led to players gathering en-masse to the Tilted Towers in a temporary truce so that they can see what's going on for themselves. Stay tuned as the story develops.
