Whether you're a fan of the battle royale game or not. You've probably heard the news that Fortnite "died." But can the biggest game in the world right now really just end like that? Well, no. But we'll get into that.

Over the weekend was the finale of Season 11 of Fortnite. Each season usually concludes in a dramatic scene that alters the game map in preparation for the following season. This ranges from world rifts to giant cubes to new volcanoes. This time around, however, the entire game itself was destroyed.

The in-game event, caught on the video above, shows a rocket launching into the air, colliding with the rift. Multiple rockets proceeded to pass through various rifts in the sky, eventually boosting into a singular location below a giant meteor trapped in time. Once a new rift had formed below it, it was released and fell into that rift, zapped away into the unknown.

The meteor re-appeared again, above the "zero point," crashing down and bursting the force field that surrounded it. The puncture broke the fabric of reality, forcefully absorbing all matter around it until literally nothing remained.

Dramatic, right? Well, the all-absorbing black hole didn't stop there. Every corner of the game has been taken over. The social media accounts show nothing but the black hole, as does the official live stream. Fortnite has not been playable since the event and we have no idea how or when that will change.

Ok, so we have a bit of an idea.

Due to a leak of information from the iOS App Store, we have reason to believe in a "Chapter 2" for Fortnite. This is because certain regions around the world see video and images for this update when they search for the game on the storefront. Epic has not remarked on this, of course.

You really have to give them credit, Fortnite knows how to put on a good show.
