Fortnite DataMiner Discovers "Second Chance Van" Respawn System

Past musing will be bearing fruit, it seems. Data miners have discovered files in Fortnite that imply a new respawning system, something previously mentioned by the developers.

A little over a week ago, Epic Games held an AMA on Reddit, where they discussed ideas for the game and its future. One of the more popular questions posed was whether they would implement their own respawn system, similar to what Apex Legend does. At the time, they could only say that they were considering it.

Now we know that they've been doing more than just that. Twitter user and Fortnite Dataminer FortTory has discovered and published evidence of a new device, a van labeled the SC_Machine, within the game's files. This includes audio clips and a 3D model of a van with a hologram of a person projected out of the top. The name of the device was then discovered to be called the Second Chance Van.

The in-game functionality of the Second Chance Van remains a mystery. Many are speculating that it will work the same as Apex Legends, where dead players drop a card that can be deposited into the van for a revival. Epic has yet to say anything about the discovery at this time, so we won't know for sure.

This is great news, it just means my team can carry me twice as hard.
