The game originally launched on PC and consoles, but it made its way to mobile with an iOS version that released earlier this year. Since then, the platform has raked in considerably large profits, and fans who don't want to get an iOS phone just to play have been aching for an Android version.
The blog post details upcoming changes to the already-available iOS variant, such as a customizable HUD and voice chat.
We know that communication is key when you're squadding up for that Victory Royale, so were working to bring voice chat to mobile. On top of that, you'll be able to chat with your teammates regardless of platform!
The only thing more important than voice chat is being able to mute voice chat. Epic Games will also be implementing an on-screen mute button with the update for just this reason.
No word on what specific date these features, or the Android version, will be available. Performance, controls, stat tracking and installation size are also among Epic Games focuses on the mobile version going forward. More information can be found in the aforementioned blog post.
