UPDATE: Called it.

Scott Cawthon is a man I used to admire, but he's still got my respect. Love him or hate him and/or the Five Nights games he created, the guy knows how to make a buzz, how to keep a fad popular, and, of course, how to tease his fans. Scott has a long history of trolling fans with locked boxes, fake 'leaked' games, and that hilarious joke where he tried to pass off Five Nights at Freddy's World as a legitimate game.

And it seems he's up to his old tricks, because in a new post over Steam, Cawthon, a man notorious for releasing his games early, has just announced that this latest game may be late: because it could be 'too scary'.

Oh, you crazy diamond, you.

"Hey guys, I wanted to post an announcement that this game might be postponed, and I'm not really sure when it would be released.

There are certain plot elements that are very dark, to the point where I sometimes feel sick. There would be no easy fix to this. I either release it Friday as it is, or I delay it by several months to completely rework the plot into something kid-friendly.

I'm unsure what I'm going to do. As always, thanks for your support."

Now, it is undeniable that Five Nights at Freddy's has a huge fan-base among younger children, and Scott might legitimately be worried that the game is too 'much' for young minds, but... this seems way too much like his standard shenanigans for me to think it's anything less than pre-release marketing hype/trolling.

That said, I would predict that Sister Location will be coming out on Friday, or perhaps sooner, maybe after a bit more teasing from ol' Scotty-C.

But hey, I've been wrong before. I'll be wrong again.
