But it's here. So. That's nice.

Scott Cawthon is known for two things: Five Nights at Freddy’s, and getting Release Dates wrong. Everything he’s touched, except maybe the first Five Nights at Freddy’s game, was released before the announced release date… and the only reason the first game was the exception was because it wasn’t announced anywhere. So, with the latest Freddy’s game on its way, is it really a surprise to find it’s been announced early?

What makes this game so different is the actual game itself. The first non-horror Freddy game so far in what will undoubtedly be a long-ass series.

So, yes, Five Nights at Freddy’s World has officially been released for $9.99. Here’s the steam description:

“With 40 playable characters, multiple endings, multiple difficulties, and a great soundtrack from artist Leon Riskin, FNaF World hits the ground running and doesn't stop. Take control of Freddy and the gang as they set out on a quest in the world beneath worlds, a world that reflects the actions and deeds of the "flipside", where things have started becoming distorted and broken. Lead your team deeper into this digital world to find the source of these glitches and monsters, and restore it to what it was designed to be- a safe haven.

But be careful, behind the curtain there may be something even more sinister pulling the strings…”

Now, since there were no review copies or fanfare with the release, all we’ve got are the steam reviews of people who have actually played it, and while Steam says right now that the 325 reviews are “Very Positive”, the top reviews are all extremely negative, so, we’re getting some mixed messages here. Still, despite that Scott said this game wouldn’t be a horror game, that last line on the Steam page sure hints at the idea he might not have been completely honest.

We’ll just have to wait to see what the fans discover. There’s no shortage of Five Nights fans still left in the world, and I’m sure they’ll tear this apart in a few short days.
