Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach Gets a Side-Scrolling Spinoff

And it's not about Furries, we swear.

Scott Cawthon, the creator of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise and all-around swell fella, has been rather quiet as of late. Generally speaking, new Five Nights at Freddy’s games come out every year or so, but we’ve been on a rather extended hiatus on the most recent addition to the franchise, Security Breach, as it’s the most ambitious title yet — replacing the relatively static gameplay of earlier games with an actual map you can move in and explore. While it was originally slated to come out last year, it’s currently looking at a 2021 release date, yet it still seems as if we’re ways off from getting to explore that robot-infested mall.

Not one to disappoint his fans, however, Scott Cawthon decided to pull one of his old tricks and surprise us with a free Five Nights at Freddy’s spin-off game, which was released just the other day: Security Breach: Fury’s Rage.

Here’s how it’s described on Game Jolt, where the game can be downloaded from:

Just to be clear right off the bat, this game is called FURY'S Rage, NOT Furry's Rage. So just get that straight. This is a game about unbridled anger and hostility, GOT IT???

Funny. Not helpful, but funny.

For those who actually want to know what it is, it appears to be a side-scrolling brawler that’s stylized to look as 80’s as humanly possible, including Mohawks, neon tattoos, and overly buff characters body-slamming each other for no discernible reason. I haven’t played it, so I don’t know if it’s good or not, but it’s free and it’s probably got some kind of secret lore hidden in it that ties it to Security Breach itself, so, we can expect a lot of people to be picking through it in the days to come.

Shine on, you crazy diamond.
