...remember a while back when I posted about the upcoming Five Nights at Freddys movie? Remember when I said I was happy Scott was ending the series but he should still milk it for what its worth?
Well, I guess, if Scott was listening, I should have emphasized the former instead of the latter, because.. were getting another Five Nights game! Hooray!
Despite the third game having what could inarguably be called a conclusive ending, were going on this ride one last time (hopefully) in Five Nights at Freddys 4: The Final Chapter. This has been announced over Scott Cawthons official website via one of his trademark enigmatic pictures, which you can see here.
Other than a date (which is on the picture), we dont know much about this game, except that its gonna be big: I mean, compared to previous Five Nights games, this one will have a solid six-some months of development, making it the longest gap between games weve yet experienced. Also, based on the animatronic in the image, its gonna be creepier than ever before.
...personally again, I would really like to see Five Nights at Freddys end. Not because Im tired of it, but because I admire Scott so much that seeing him drag this out beyond its welcome is a real danger. I mean, this is the first success the mans had in game design and animation in his whole career, theres a very real danger of him over-doing it and losing all the good faith hes built up among the fans. That said yeah, there are still plot-threads that the third game left untied (The fate of the marionette and the force that controls it, Golden Freddy, Balloon Boy, just to name a few) and who knows, each game has been getting objectively better than the last, maybe by the fourth game hell be confident enough to move onto something new.
He should probably stick with horror, though. Or at least point-and-click.
