Five Nights at Freddy's 4: The Final Chapter is chugging along nicely, I guess. It's pretty characteristic of Mr. Scott to stay quiet during development, only to occasionally release some enigmatic trailer or image to tease fans and remind the rest of us that it's still a thing. Well, over the weekend, we had an uncharacteristic amount of new information about the game in that we now know something.
For one, we know the release date has been bumped up from Halloween to August 8, timed to come out on the same date as the first game less than a year ago.
For two, we now have a trailer. Check it.
The trailer itself is surprisingly informative. For the first time in the series, we're not some employee showing an unnatural affection for his job watching robots try to murder him: rather, we're in a regular house, and there seems to be a distinct lack of cameras to help us figure out where Freddy and Co. lurk. Also, there seems to be a lot of smaller robots this time around so that's different.
I'm not going to claim to be excited by this game the way I was excited about the others, since we're so dangerously close to jumping the shark, but at the very least it seems Scott is doing something different, so he's not just repeating the formula at nausea. That's promising, I suppose.
