After a long wait, we finally have our first look at the upcoming Oddworld: Soulstorm. An image was recently released by developer Oddworld Inhabitants featuring a familiar scene for fans of the series. The image does little to show off a lot about the game, but it does a good job at setting the scene. It features a line of Mudokons marching with bundles in hand. Each one is numbered and corresponds to a tattoo on each Mudokon's chest. What ties the whole image together is the out of focus Glukkon in the background, watching them.

This is specifically familiar to players of the first game, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. There, gamers played as a Mudokon, Abe, in his quest to escape a Glukkon factory with as many peers as possible. Else, he and his people would literally be butchered and eaten. That is some necessary background, because Soulstorm aims to pi8ck up Abe's story from the first two games. Now that the enemy of the past game is vanquished, what are 300 starving, former slaves supposed to do?

We'll have to wait for late 2017 to find out.
