Super Mario Odyssey has made quite a few waves since it was first released, and people have been lavishing the game with praise it very much deserves. But Nintendo isn’t going to sit on its accolades for whatever reason: they’re going to keep people talking about this game for years to come with post-launch updates!
The first of these, which was announced over a recent Nintendo Direct, will be launching next month, and it will bring you everyone’s second-favorite Italian no-longer-a-plumber, Luigi.
Specifically, it will introduce a new competitive mode called Luigi’s Balloon World. Just talk to Luigi, and you’ll have 30 seconds to either hide a balloon or try to find one. If you hide a balloon, you have to race around the map to find a spot no one will be able to find or reach within the time limit. If you choose to find a balloon, you have until the time limit to find and reach a balloon another player has hidden.
We don’t know the reward for doing this well, but we do know that on top of this, the game will also add new outfits and snapshot filters. For free, I should add. You don’t have to pay real-life money for this extra content. What a novel and alien idea.
You’ll get to see these free updates come February.
