Wow, this is depressing. A poor teenager was shot and killed while searching for creatures in Pokemon GO, making it very well the first death relating to Pokemon GO. Jerson Lopez de Leon, only 18, was ambushed and killed when he was playing the AR game with his cousin Daniel Moises Picen, who was 17.
Unfortunately, it's unclear as to why the two were attacked, but police have guessed that the attackers knew that the teenagers were using the app, thanks to the location features.

The two were searching or Pokemon on a street in Chiquimula. And at the scene of the murder? 20 bullet casings. Geez. That's just incredibly depressing.

Well, here's the full story nevertheless: basically the two teens were walking alongside a railway line when they were shot at. Person died later in the hospital.

According to his mother:

"I don't know why my son left the house. He was already in bed when his cousin sent him a message asking him to go out and download a game a few blocks from the house."

This is depressing, and I'm sure this won't be the only Pokemon GO! related death. Everyone, please be careful when playing. You never know when it's going to happen.
