Aquanox is back ladies and gentlemen! If you don't know what Aquanox is, I really don't blame you. The game came out for PC back in the early 2000s and was created by Massive Development, who went out of business in 2005. Basically, there's good reason why you never heard of the game. Good news is, it's coming back and it's better than ever.
THQ Nordic and Digital Arrow have collaborated to create a prequel to the futuristic series, called Aquanox Deep Descent. The game takes place underwater on Earth after the world have been driven to the seas due to dangerous levels of radioactivity on the surface. The weirdest part about this game is that it's an FPS, just like the original.
It is unique in the sense that you are actually performing all combat with your submarine. Unlike the traditional run-and-gun FPS, you are a fast moving sub that cannot exactly stop on command. Just like physics in the real world, if you come to a screeching stop in your submarine, it will continue to drift for a short distance. This makes movement extremely strategic and delicate. You must also engage in combat from far distances, making it easier to avoid enemy fire.
Check out the video down below and see if you want to get a submarine for yourself!
