The latest Pokemon title is out, if you somehow missed the news, and of course people are obsessed with it, as you might expect. I, myself, have yet to get my hands on Sun and Moon, but I’m counting my pennies and dimes until I get the chance to play it for myself. Of course, while it’s only a matter of time before I get to play the game, my lack of urgency in purchasing it is going to bite me in the behind in some form or another: specifically, I’m going to miss some global, community events… for example, the one that started just today.

The task is simple: you need to catch 100 million Pokémon between today, November 29th, and December 13th  Seem like a lot? Don’t worry, you won’t be doing it alone: as long as you’re synched up online, you’ll be working with other players around the globe, each one of you contributing to that quota.

Participating is easy: just go to the Festival Plaza, and head inside the castle. Use the PC to the right to make an account, then talk to the lady next to the PC. Then, you’ll be participating!

If you and everyone else manages to catch 100 million pocket monsters, then everyone who participates will get a whooping 1000 Festival Coins: an in-game currency that can be used to level up Pokemon, train them, change outfits, and more. That being said, if you fall short of 100 million, you’ll still get 100 Festival Coins for your effort.

Sound like a good deal? I agree! So get those Pokeballs and find some tall grass: ya’ll got some work to do.
