First Gears of War 4 Trailer Out

And I find it kind of funny, find it kinda sad.

Who here remembers how cool the first Gears of War commercial was? I mean, it was pretty hardcore stuff--poignant and heavy, with “Madworld” quietly playing in the background as our hero ran through a destroyed city, only to find himself face-to-face with shadowed demons? Well, even if you don’t remember, Gears of War developers The Coalition and Splash Damage certainly hope you do, because they hallmark the crap out of it in the Gears of War 4 trailer, which was just released today.

Ruined forest instead of ruined city, and we find ol’ Markus Jr. (whatever his name is) back on the ol’ family farm as he guns down shadowy monsters from beyond. S’pretty good. Except the song was a bit more on the nose than “Madworld”, if possible, and at this point it’s been overused ironically so often it lacks all punch. But still, it’s there. And it’s neat, so...

That’s nice.
