It seems as if the first episode of the upcoming, anticipated King's Quest is just over the horizon. We have mentioned this game twice in the past, being a sort of reboot of the series that will "reimagine all the charm, humor puzzles, exploration and sense of wonder that made the franchise so magical when it first arrived thirty years ago." The story unfolds on an elder King Graham reliving his days as a hero through story-telling with his granddaughter, Gwendolyn.
The art-style is pure eye-candy and the gameplay is absolutely captivating, capable of drawing old and new players alike. The Odd Gentlemen is facing a lot of pressure from fans, but honestly, I believe the crew has created a game that would make even Sierra Entertainment giddy with glee.
Good news for fans everywhere, though. The first chapter of King's Quest, titled A Knight to Remember, will be available on July 28 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners will see the release on July 29. The first chapter will be available for $9.99, but you can purchase the complete collection, which is available for pre-order now, for $39.99. Those that pre-purchase on Steam will receive a free gorgeous Wallpaper Pack on July 28 to decorate desktops with.
King's Quest will be broken up into five different chapters that will be released throughout 2015 and 2016. Here are the following features to expect:
- King's Quest brings adventure gaming into a new era while staying true to what made the original games beloved; the unforgettable storytelling, wit, puzzles, and of course plenty of ways to die!
- Select between the noble pillars of Bravery , Wisdom, and Compassion to see what rippling effects these choices will have on Graham's journey as well as later chapters.
- Puzzles will offer multiple solutions, encouraging players to experiment with their inventory and environment.
- Befriend the most unexpected and peculiar of companions throughout Daventry!
Note: This trailer focuses on the PS3 and PS4 version of the Complete Collection.
