Final Nominees for The Steam Awards Revealed

Steam, the largest online video game distributor, has revealed the finalists for The Steam Awards 2018. Based on user-submitted nominations, each award category has now been limited to five potential winners, with voting opening up this Thursday to decide the final winner.

Finalist voting will take place from December 20 and run until January 3. There are eight categories to vote from, with five nominees in each. More on the voting process will be available on the Steam web page once the voting goes live. Until then, check out the categories and their finalists.

Steam made a point to remark on the Best Developer category, stating that it was a highly-contested field with many neck-and-neck close calls. In response to this, they've expanded the nomination list to 10 developers instead of the usual five. They also remarked that, out of fairness, they have excluded Valve from the final tally.
