Final Fantasy XV Doesn't Allow Use of the Share Button

Probably due to Japanese copyright laws.

It has been confirmed that the new Square Enix title, Final Fantasy XV, will not allow players to use the Share button through their Playstation. Normally, players are allowed to use the Share button to take videos and screenshots of the game they're currently playing. For whatever reason, this will not be allowed when playing FFXV. This could be due to the copyright laws in Japan. Basically, since there is Japanese voice acting on the disc it cannot be duplicated in any way unless it's in an official way, even on a localized version of the disc.

If you do happen to have a capture card, you can still take photos and videos of the game. It's only disabled if you try to take the content directly from the PS4 through the console's methods. This might be changed on launch day, but for right now it's not looking like it will be a possibility. Games have done this in the past, and while fans have gotten upset about it, it's just the way that the law works. If things end up changing come launch day, we'll be sure to let you know!
