Just a few days ago, we've seen the crossover trailer between Monster Hunter: World and Final Fantasy XIV. It appeared epic, set in the world of Monster Hunter and filled with cactuars, a behemoth, and moogles (but no chocobos?). Your rewards included the Gae Bolg (an insect glaive) as well as a minion and the dragoon artifact gear.
But what about Final Fantasy XIV? Well, we finally have a release date for the Monster Hunter: World event within Final Fantasy XIV: August 7. In fact, check out the trailer below:
Alright, so a few things of note regarding this event:
Rathalos is an instanced fight (though set in the Azim Steppe) requiring eight players in the normal mode, but only four players in the extreme version. This is honestly a first for extreme fights, where they typically require eight players.
The Rathalos battle will feature Monster Hunter-esque actions, such as riding on top of Rathalos.
Rathalos is also a freakin' MOUNT. Awesome, right?
Palicos will be a minion in the game.
So won't the Poogies.
The campfire will be a house furnishing item.
Anyway, watch and rewatch the trailer, as well as prepare for the collaboration in Final Fantasy XIV, arriving August 7.
