Square Enix can definitely be on time, that's for sure. I mean this in the fact that yesterday, though it was previously stated that Alexander was to be released, it seemed that there was no clear indication that 3.01 was hitting today. Usually, maintenance announcements would indicate the reason behind maintenance, which didn't occur this time, so it was a neat surprise to find out that 3.01 has been released today.

Alexander: Gordias arrived today alongside several adjustments to job actions. Here are some of the major highlights of the patch notes:

[3.0]: These additions and adjustments require the purchase and registration of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward.
[2.0]: These additions and adjustments do not require the purchase of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward.
[2.0][3.0]: These additions and adjustments contain elements that may require the purchase and registration of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward.
  • [3.0] A new Chronicles of a New Era quest has been added, which requires Disciple of War or Magic at level 60 and the completion of the Heavensward main scenario quest.
  • [3.0] The rewards for certain quests have been adjusted.
  • [3.0] New FATEs have been added.
  • [2.0] The number of points awarded by defeating NPCs in Triple Triad tournaments have been increased.
  • [3.0] The new raid dungeon Alexander: Gordias has been added:
Off the bat, players can queue solo for the raid using Duty Finder.

- Rewards

Treasure coffers that appear upon completing Alexander: Gordias will not yield gear, but instead yield tokens that can be traded for gear of your choosing.
You can only receive one item per floor each week. In the event you are awarded an item from the loot list, you relinquish your right to vie for all remaining items regardless of whether you selected Need or Greed. Also note that there is no weekly restriction on entering Alexander: Gordias.

Reward eligibility is reset every Tuesday at 1:00 a.m. PDT
  • [3.0] Actions have been adjusted as follows:
This only applies to Bard and Machinist, with the abilities the Wanderer's Minuet (enhanced), Empyreal Arrow (nerfed), and Sidewinder (nerfed), Gauss Barrel (enhanced/nerfed as recast time has been increased from 2.5 to 15 seconds), Gauss Round (nerfed), Ricochet (nerfed).
  • [3.0] New items have been added.
This includes iLvl 190 items.
  • [3.0] New recipes have been added.
Only for Carpenter and Armorer.
  • [2.0] The Gordian Bureau / Gordian Chair can now be desynthesized.
  • [3.0] Seven new achievements have been added, all related to Alexander.
  • [2.0] The size of the comments field has been increased when selected Refer to Comment as your objective in the Party Finder.
  • [3.0] New music has been added.
  • [3.0] Adjustments have been made to the Mac version affecting performance.
  • [2.0] The default folder for screenshots has been changed as follows: (Mac)
  • [2.0] The default screen mode has been changed from Full Screen to Windowed. (Mac)
  • Alisaie and Tataru minions are now available for purchase from the Final Fantasy XIV: Mog Station.
A lot of issues have been also fixed, but I will not list them here.

You can read all of the patch notes on the official site. Now here's the question of the day:

"How long would it take people to clear Alexander?"

My guess? About a week.
