Looking forward to Patch 3.1 for Final Fantasy XIV? Been wondering what's going to be inside the hopefully juicy patch? Well, a few days ago, Yoshi P announced that they would be releasing the preliminary patch notes for Patch 3.1's "As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness" as early as November 6. And boy, were they were right on the money. Just this morning, the preliminary notes have been unveiled, so if you want to take a look at them, then look no further than the official Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone.

Here are some major highlights of the patch (as well as a couple translations):
  • Eight new main scenario quests.
  • Two new "Chronicles of an Era Quests"
  • I love the fact that they kept in the French language for part of the notes. Here's the translation:
  • The conditions necessary for beginning the quest (literal translation here) "The Anger of the Master Blade" (referencing Ravana, I believe?) have been adjusted. Players must first complete the quest "Gods of Eld" instead.
  • As a result of the change, the conditions necessary to obtain the achievement "Calling the Warring Triad" has been modified.
  • "Players must first complete the Chronicles of a New Era quests 'The Diabolical Bismarck" and "Thok Around the Clock."
  • Vanu Vanu quests are available.
  • Two dungeons can be unlocked (though they tend to be sidequests, not part of the main scenario).
  • New items from timeworn wyvern and dragonskin treasure maps.
  • House Sharing
  • Krile
  • Lord of Verminion
  • The return of the 1.0 mining and botany mini-games (which is hilarious, in my opinion).
And of course, so much more! Patch 3.1 of Final Fantasy XIV will release November 10, 2015, so the same day as Fallout 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider.... ouch.
