Today is a very, incredibly slow news day. Nothing too exciting occurred today unless you're a Final Fantasy XIV fan who has been waiting to see what the future Palace of the Dead floors will bring to the table.

And today, during the Letter from the Producer LIVE at Las Vegas, held during the final day of Fanfest 2016, some nifty details regarding the somewhat randomized dungeon emerged.

What should we look forward to in the upcoming dungeon, scheduled for 3.45?
  • First, there will be new floor designs. The first three slides presented are going to retain the familiarity seen in the first 50 Palace of the Dead floors, but the fourth slide reveals an area completely different. Supposedly, this area will be known as hell.
  • Second, the difficulty will jump up to extreme levels. If you're a fan of hardcore and difficult content, then you should jump into this. I'm personally excited for some savage four-man death.
  • Third, a new BGM track was previewed, which was actually a "remastered" track of Blasphemous Experiment, a Tactics Ogre battle theme that played when players faced Nybeth. And yes, players will be facing Nybeth.
  • Fourth, players will encounter a strange, area with a tree and a bench. It is advised to sit on the bench.
  • Fifth, the rewards of the dungeon will be red glowing weapons.
  • And finally, the Ranking Page was revealed, which looks simplistic and easy to navigate through.
So if you're the hardcore type seeking a challenge, look forward to the updated floors coming in 3.45!
